STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH OTHER LAWYERS
If you have a client who needs advice in relation to a Queensland Will or estate issue, we would be pleased to talk with you about them.
We have developed a number of referral relationships with other law firms and we ensure that we have internal systems so we only represent your client in relation to the work for which you have referred them to us.
We will never poach your client to complete any other legal work. For example:
We would be pleased to represent your client in relation to and Will or estate litigation matter whilst your firm retains the estate administration. Our firm has the resources and the staff to handle large litigation files and we would be prepared to defer the requirement for payment of our fees.
We accept instructions in town agency matters and can work with your staff or your client directly to complete a certain retainer. We shall then cease work after the retainer is complete and refer your client back to you.
If you are not based in Queensland but have a Queensland based estate and would like some assistance, we would be pleased to advise on an as required basis. Please call us if you believe we can be of some assistance to you.
STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS WITH ADMINISTRATORS, TRUSTEES AND LITIGATION GUARDIAN SERVICES
Our Managing Director, Kent Dalziel, regularly accepts appointments as an independent Administrator of Deceased estates, as an Executor and / or Trustee of Wills when a suitable family member cannot be located and as a Litigation Guardian for people under a legal disability. Recently, Kent was appointed as the independent Administrator of a Deceased estate where the Court referred to him as ‘independent, competent and willing to act.’ This judgement can be found here.
Kent is comfortable accepting these roles and the risks and other obligations that come with them. His fee for Administrator, Executor and Litigation Guardian services is charged on the basis of the Supreme Court Scale of costs, as assessed by an independent cost assessor.
